We had Gavin & Stacy here on BBC America, and we thought it was great, especially Ruth Jones.

IMO, it's far and above alot of crap that's on US networks.

Sorry, the dreadful reviews I was referring to weren't for Gavin & Stacey, which is widely applauded. They're for their sketch show.

I could see how that could happen. Sketch comedy is hard, and after Gavin and Stacey, could be a bit of overkill.

I did see Matthew Horne on the Catherine Tate Christmas show (2007) with Kathy Burke, and it was brilliant.

I couldn't really comment either way - as I say above, I've never really seen any of their work (beyond an interview with James Corden, ages ago, which tells me little about his writing and performing, really). That's what made their cameo appearance in my dream so very random.

Sketch comedy is hard indeed - but then I can't think of a form of comedy that isn't bloody hard work at some point.
